Welcome to the magical world of Hogwarts Legacy! You have been tasked with completing Niamh Fitzgerald's trial in order to unlock the secrets of the ancient magical power that has been hidden away for centuries. Niamh will provide you with clues and tasks to complete in order to gain access to the powerful magic.
The first step of the trial is to enter the Headmaster's Office. Wait until the headmaster is gone and go up the stairway guarded by a gargoyle. Whisper the password to enter and you will be presented with a magical doorway. Enter the door and you will be presented with a map chamber.
In the map chamber you will be asked to collect three items - a Cloak of Invisibility, a Powerful Wand and a Stone. The Cloak of Invisibility will provide you with the ability to pass unnoticed, the Powerful Wand will provide you with the ability to cast powerful spells and the Stone will provide you with the ability to see visions of the past.
The next step is to defeat Death's Disciples. To do this, you will need to use the Cloak of Invisibility and defeat four trolls twice. This will allow you to gain access to the Pensive.
In the Pensive, speak with Niamh Fitzgerald and she will tell you the truth about the goblins' Ancient Magic. She will explain that the power lies within the Stone and only a powerful wizard such as yourself can unlock it.
Return to the Map Chamber and use the magic doorway. Speak with San Bakar and Professor Fig and they will thank you for completing Niamh's trial. You have now unlocked the secrets of the Ancient Magic and can use it to your own advantage.
